German Economy Minister Robert Habeck has said that armsmaker Rheinmetall's sponsorship of Borussia Dortmund is a "good thing" and that the company shares "similar values" to the Bundesliga club.
Rheinmetall's chief executive officer, Armin Papperger, has said that the company is "proud" to be partnering with BVB and that the two organizations share a "common goal" of "success".
The deal will see Rheinmetall's logo displayed on BVB's shirts and at Signal Iduna Park, the club's home stadium. Rheinmetall will also become a sponsor of BVB's women's team and its youth academy.
